Proposed Book Purchases on Library Services Website

The most recent proposed book purchases for elementary and secondary are posted on our Library Services Website.

In accordance with Senate Bill 13 and Board Policy EF(B), proposed library books are posted for 30 days prior to Board approval. If you would like to provide feedback or input on any of the books listed, we invite you to complete the Feedback Form that can be found on the website.

At the conclusion of the 30 day posting period, a committee, including campus and district staff, will review the comments submitted to determine which books will be presented to the LHISD School Board for approval at the October 20th Board Meeting.

Library Services Update

LHISD values our partnership with parents when it comes to educating students. In order to strengthen this partnership, we have added some features to our library management system, Follett Destiny, that will allow parents to view and set boundaries on the subjects and titles of books they would like their children to be able to check out through the library. Parents now have access to Destiny Parent Controls–enabling them to access their child’s library information (checkouts, overdue materials, etc.) as well as navigate the features detailed here. If you need help with access or how it works, please contact your campus librarian. You can find more information on our District Library Services website about all of the work our librarians do and how we partner with parents and the community. Thank you.

LHISD School Board Place 4 New Trustee

The Liberty Hill ISD Board of Trustees has appointed Jamie Etzkorn to serve as the new Place 4 trustee.

A proud Liberty Hill ISD parent and dedicated community leader, Mrs. Etzkorn has spent more than a decade serving our schools through PTO leadership, booster club support, district committees, and volunteer work. She also serves as an Associate Judge in Williamson County and has held leadership roles in local nonprofit and civic organizations.

Please join us in welcoming Jamie Etzkorn to the LHISD Board of Trustees!

🍎 National School Lunch Program Changes

Starting Sept. 1, 2025, reduced-price meals in Texas public schools will now be free under new state legislation.

Families who qualify through the 2025–26 Benefits Application will receive breakfast and lunch at no cost.

From Aug. 12–31, reduced-price meals were still charged at $0.40; any balance from that time remains the family’s responsibility.

Each student receives one free entrée per meal, plus unlimited fruits and veggies.

REMINDER FOR CURRENT BENEFICIARIES: The 30-day rollover for expiring benefits ends Sept. 16. Even if your child qualified last year, you must reapply this year to continue receiving benefits. Beginning Sept. 18, meal charges will apply if a new application has not been approved.

Important Student Information

HB1481: Student Device Use Restricted
Beginning this school year, Texas House Bill 1481 requires all public school districts to restrict student use of personal communication devices — such as phones, smartwatches, earbuds, and tablets — during the school day.

Liberty Hill ISD is following this state-mandated law by asking students to keep devices powered off and put away during instructional time, hallway transitions, and lunch periods.

This change supports a more focused learning environment, reduces distractions, and encourages face-to-face engagement between students and staff.

Learn more and view our policy & FAQs: https://www.libertyhill.txed.net/HB1481

Dress Code and Student Code of Conduct

Every student is expected to follow the LHISD Dress Code & Student Code of Conduct everyday.

2025 - 2026 Student Code of Conduct

2025 - 2026 Dress Code

Here are some highlights of the dress code:

#5 -Students’ faces must not have any facial hair.

#6 - Piercings are allowed in the ears, but gauges are prohibited. A small nostril stud piercing is allowed but bridge and septum piercings are prohibited. All other facial piercings are prohibited.

This means that hoop nose rings are prohibited

#8 - Tops must meet the beltline and should not expose the midriff at any time.

If students are out of dress code, the Administration will ask the student to change. If dress code violations persist, students will be assigned additional consequences.

Lunch

Students will enjoy lunch based on the location of their 3rd and 7th period classes. All lunches are located in the cafeteria. Students are permitted to sit in the cafeteria tables, on the porch or in the library. Students are NOT permitted to leave campus during lunch.

  • B Lunch: 12:05 pm - 12:35 pm
  • C Lunch: 12:55 pm - 1:25 pm

Meals and a la carte items are available for purchase in the cafeteria. If you would like to add money to your student’s account, please visit the Skyward Parent Portal.

Wranglers in Action

Action Items

Counseling Services Notification and Screener Consent

In accordance with newly passed legislation (SB12), the District must notify parents of school counseling services and give parents the opportunity to opt out before those services are provided to their child. Consent and opt-out selection given through this form is effective during the current school year unless rescinded earlier. Please read more information and complete the LRHS Consent Form at the link below:

LRHS SB12 Parent Letter

LRHS Parent Notification & Consent Form

Please complete the form for each child who attends LRHS

LRHS Clubs Opt-In Form

The State of Texas now requires parental/guardian consent before a student may participate in any school club. At LRHS, we offer many different clubs, and we understand that completing a separate consent form for each one could be overwhelming.

To make the process easier, we will be using the LRHS CLUB PERMISSION FORM, completed by a parent/guardian, for students to participate in any club. In order for your student to participate in clubs at LRHS, you must fill out the permission form. It is important that a parent/guardian fills this form out and not a student.

SB12 Annual Notification of Health-Related Services and Parental Consent

In accordance with the *new* Texas Senate Bill 12, Liberty Hill ISD is providing this notice to inform you of the health-related services available to students during the upcoming school year. SB 12 specifically states that parents must now provide consent for their child to receive any nursing or medical services at school. This includes routine care such as temperature checks, administering over-the-counter medication, or basic first aid. As part of this new mandate, parents have the opportunity to opt in or opt out of campus-based health-related services for their child.

To comply with legislative requirements, we ask that you acknowledge receipt of this notice by completing the form at the following link: 2025-2026 Health Services Annual Parent/Guardian Consent

If you choose to opt out of these services, and your child becomes ill or sustains an injury during the school day, the campus nurse will not be permitted to assess or provide care.

Emergency Situations: In the event of an emergency or if someone requires life-saving measures, staff are authorized to provide assistance to the student.

Services that campuses may include (but are not limited to):

  • Acute Care: Providing immediate care for illnesses and non- life threatening injuries. (i.e, taking temperature, cleansing a scrape & applying a bandaid, assessing stomach ache, headaches)

  • Chronic Disease Management: Assisting students with chronic conditions like asthma or diabetes in managing their health, administering medications, and developing individualized healthcare plans (IHPs).

  • Medication Administration: Administering both prescribed and over-the-counter medications as per the physician's orders and with parental consent.

  • Preventive Care: Providing or coordinating preventive care, like state-required immunization reminders and resources.

  • Promote health education on topics like nutrition and hygiene.

  • Care Coordination: Collaborating with physicians, families, and school staff to ensure comprehensive care, advocacy, and communicating health information effectively. (i.e., ensuring all staff are aware of the child's medical needs and the support needed throughout the school day).

  • Health Education: Educating students and parents on various health topics, including disease prevention, healthy lifestyles, and managing chronic conditions.

  • Mental Health Support: Provide first-aid care and crisis intervention, then partner with and transfer care to the campus counseling department for further support if warranted.

  • Identifying and Addressing Health Barriers to Learning: Recognizing health problems that may be impeding a student's educational progress and partnering with education staff in developing plans to address them. (i.e, participating, advocating in IEP/504 meetings)

  • Referrals to Community Resources: Connecting students and families with community healthcare providers and social services.

If you have questions about the health‑related services available at your child’s campus or wish to request additional information, please contact us at healthservices@libertyhill.txed.net

We remain committed to supporting your child’s health, safety, and well-being in partnership with you.
