Mr. Koller graduated from Texas State University with a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies and earned his Masters in Education Administration from Lamar University.

Mr. Koller started his career as a special education teacher at Bowie Elementary School in San Marcos CISD. He spent his two remaining years in San Marcos CISD as a fourth-grade teacher before he and his wife Natalia moved to the Leander area to start a family. Once in Leander ISD, he helped open Jim Plain Elementary, was an instructional coach in the Steiner Ranch area, and returned to Plain as an assistant principal. While in Leander ISD, Mr. Koller served as principal at Pleasant Hill Elementary, Leander Middle School, and most recently, the opening of Danielson Middle School.

Mr. Koller served as a principal advocacy fellow for Raise Your Hand Texas and is part of the Raise Your Hand Texas Harvard Leadership Cohort, spending time supporting public education during the 85th through 89th Texas legislative sessions.

Mark and Natalia will celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary next June. They have three beautiful daughters, Sienna 15,  Scarlett 13, and Giada 11. He and his family enjoy spending time at the beach in Ocean City, N.J. in the summer and traveling to his girl's various extracurricular activities including UIL Academics, cheer, volleyball, and theatre. Originally, a native of Philadelphia, Pa., Mr. Koller is unapologetically a Philadelphia sports fan including his love for the Eagles, Phillies and 76ers. His hobbies include playing pickup basketball around the Leander/Cedar Park area and going to the movies with his girls.

An interviewing committee of Santa Rita MS students, parents, staff and community came together with LHISD leadership to find the right person to lead our new high school.

"Being a part of the opening team at Legacy Ranch High School is extremely exciting," said Koller. I cannot wait to partner with our students and families at Santa Rita Middle School, our feeder elementary campuses, as well as our Board of Trustees, Mr. Snell and his team. I am also looking forward to learning all the traditions and legacies that came before me in Liberty Hill ISD. I've watched Liberty Hill grow during my 17 years in Leander ISD. I have always marveled in awe of the LHISD community and I am thrilled to be a part of it. Opening a second high school in a one-high school district is a very tall task. I know that our partnership with the Panther Nation, Liberty Hill HS students, and staff will be integral to our success at Legacy Ranch. Together LHHS and LRHS will create an even better Liberty Hill ISD and continue the tradition of building champions. Let's build this new legacy together!"
